How You Get Paid

We offer fee-based financial planning tied to a percentage of assets under management. You earn a share of the revenue your clients generate.

Payouts to advisors range from 50% to 88% of revenue depending on revenue generated

Matthew Kidd, CPA, PFS has spent over 20 years in the small firm CPA world, owning Blunden & Kidd Accounting & Consulting since 2017. Over the years, he became increasingly frustrated with the poor, cookie-cutter advice he saw many clients receiving from financial advisors. Combined with the grind of 70+ hour tax seasons, Matthew began searching for a way to integrate high-quality financial planning and wealth management directly into a CPA practice.From the start, two principles guided his search: independence and quality.

 

That commitment led to the launch of Kidd Financial Planning, a Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firm, in 2023 — and a strategic affiliation with Buckingham Strategic Partners (now Focus Financial Partners) to provide robust back-office support and investment solutions grounded in tax efficiency, low costs, and long-term value.

What began as a way to serve his own clients quickly became something bigger. As a MICPA Board Member, Small Practitioner’s Task Force Member, and AICPA Council Member, Matthew spoke with countless CPAs who wanted to offer financial planning but didn’t know how to start. Seeing the gap, he created a platform that helps CPAs transition into offering comprehensive financial advice — without sacrificing independence or client trust — and in the process, elevate the overall client experience for small firms.
